Your Unreal project, ready to share
HydraUnrealEngine checks, builds, packages and uploads your project. Start on your Windows development machine.
1. Open HydraUnrealEngine
Download for WindowsOpen the downloaded file. HydraUnrealEngine opens its local interface in your browser. Keep the tool running while it builds.
For Windows + Linux, use UE 5.7.3 or 5.7.4 with its C++ build tools installed.
2. Choose your project and package
Click Add project and enter the folder containing your .uproject. Open Package project, keep Windows + Linux (default), then click Package and upload.
The tool checks both targets, builds and uploads separate Windows and Linux packages. Both download links appear in the same interface. You can select a single target when needed.
Linux prerequisites for the default build
Install your selected UE 5.7 engine's Linux target files through Epic Launcher and Epic's v26 clang 20.1.8 cross-toolchain. The tool checks these before cooking; a custom toolchain path can be set under Advanced settings.
The Hydra Unreal Template's native launcher and manifest are included during delivery. You do not need to run the template's separate validation or bundling scripts for this path.
3. Share the build for deployment
Send both download links and the intended venue to your deployment contact. They stage it in ExperienceLibrary, install it on the selected body and verify it before promotion.
Upload means the build is ready to hand over. A working body launch and a headset session are checked separately.
Starting a new project?
Get the Hydra Unreal Template: a C++ starter with a rotating cube, flat mode and OpenXR preparation. Add its folder to HydraUnrealEngine like any other project.
Deployment and headset checks
Operators verify the artifact checksum, organization and venue scope, installed build and an interactive flat launch. Headset acceptance requires stereo, head movement and current hand tracking. The WiVRn test for the template is tracked in #741.
